In all the excitement from the last month, I completely forgot to tell everyone about the seminar back in June. It’s already the end of July! Anyway, it was a lot of fun. Everyone had a great time while Adam and I taught the seminar. A big thank you to all the models and everyone that showed up!

I’m very excited to announce a seminar from 9 AM to 4 PM on Saturday, March 28th. The seminar will cover Engagement, Wedding, and Fashion portraits. I hope you can all make it to this seminar. I assure you it’ll be a blast! Feel free to spread the word.

Earlier this month I had the pleasure of capturing Sara & Nick’s Wedding at Hotel Monaco in Old Town Alexandria. With a beautiful couple, a beautiful venue and a beautiful day, the whole event allowed for some wonderful images:

I’m sure you’ve all been wondering what it is exactly that we do during our seminars. Well, let’s start by introducing you to the class:

Now that you’ve been properly introduced, here’s what we did this past Monday and Tuesday. The first day was mostly about natural lighting, and even though we were two hands short (because our lovely graphic designer decided to party it up on her birthday), we were still able to have fun shooting outside and around the building. We also covered some technical camera functions and other types of lighting. On the second day, we celebrated Naz’s birthday (the graphic designer), and we had a little competition. The idea was to mimic magazine ads as much as possible with our models and the lighting we had (and there are some samples of what came out of it below).

I’d just like to thank everyone who showed up to our seminar. The next one will be on July 14th and 15th, so sign up now!

On Monday night, we held a photo shoot with Emily, Pamela, and Rachel as our models. We had eight photographers come in and we had a mini-seminar to teach some techniques about photography. The models were great, the experience was new, and our studio was full. We began setting up at 6:30 PM and we had the models try on a few different outfits. The models were very cooperative, and some they even helped out where they could here and there. Though we went a little longer than we had anticipated, the models were happy to continue.
