About Hyon Smith
As a young boy of ten, award-winning photographer Hyon Smith knew he wanted to be an artist. When Hyon first played with his father’s camera around this time, his passion for photography was also stirred. He followed this calling by pursuing an education in Fine Arts while continuing to work on his photography skills. Eventually the desire to singularly pursue photography led Hyon to cross over from painting to full-time photography. A photograph’s ability to move and touch people immediately after it is taken was the determining factor driving this transition.
Hyon has worked as a professional photographer for almost two decades but continues to hone his craft in wedding, lifestyle, studio, and event photography. A seasoned trendsetter, Hyon has also photographed a number of prominent celebrities- professional athletes, politicians, members of the media, models, and designers. Hyon Smith’s work has been featured in many publications, among them Asia’s leading lifestyle magazine Noblesse, the Washington Post, and the Washingtonian.
Hyon brings his classical training and experience to his unique brand of photojournalistic photography, capturing and creating shots that are timeless and full of emotion. His passion and skill are evident in all of his work.
Based in the Washington DC Metro area, Hyon Smith is available for assignment worldwide.

I’m interested in learning more about photography and I must say you take amazing pictures. My friend Steve Portobanco mentioned that he attended some your workshop. I was wondering if I could get more information on the workshops that you offer and find out when the next one will be. I’m looking now to purchase a new SLR camera.
